JP's Pastry in Downtown Benson is a certified gluten-free bakery known nation-wide; it is the only certified gluten-free kitchen in both North and South Carolina. They are certified through the GFCO or Gluten Free Certification Organization, which means they do not prepare or bake any products or use any ingredients in their kitchen that contain gluten, thereby avoiding cross-contamination. The GFCO program also means that JP's uses quality control measures during and after production to provide assurances to their customers that their products are safe for even highly gluten intolerant consumers.
