| Celebrate all things about Ava Gardner and her "Cinderella Story" rise to stardom. This annual festival includes special themed exhibits, heritage tours of her birthplace, her childhood home, film screenings of her movies and an opening night event.
This year's festival will pay tribute to Ava's dear friend and renowned actor, Gregory Peck. They would star in three movies together, "The Great Sinner", "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" and "On the Beach". Peck always defended Ava's talent, and wrote for her autobiography:
"By the time we did "On the Beach", Ava had a wonderful style. There were certain things she did that I think no one could equal. She was perfect for "On the Beach", and I don't know of anyone who could match her performance in "The Snows of Kilimanjaro". She had this natural piognancy and her feelings ran very deep. To my mind she developed into a fine actress. I've been telling her that for years, and she always waves it off."
Festival times, October 5-7, 2012 Friday night, 7pm-10pm Saturday, 9am-6pm Sunday, 1pm-6pm
