Selma Railroad Days is entering its 37th consecutive year.  This event is held the first weekend in October each year.  Selma Railroad Days has live entertainment, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, rides, special events, carnival, Selma Railroad Run, Caboose Run, parade, pageant, and much more!

Railroad Days Pageant
The Selma Railroad Days Pageant is open to all girls ages 4 - 20 who reside within a 20 mile radius of Johnston County.  Crowns are awarded in the following categories (ages shown as of September 29th).  The pageant takes place the weekend before Railroad Days, on Saturday, September 29th, 2011, at the Selma Elementary School Auditorium.  The Railroad Days Pageant entry fee is $100.00.  Information and applications on each particular category are available at Town Hall, at the Selma Parks & Recreation office, or by clicking on the link below.

  Railroad Days Parade
  The Railroad Day's Parade serves as the official kickoff of the festival.  The parade begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. at the Selma Elementary School and makes its way through Raiford Street in Uptown Selma.  Registeration forms are available at Town Hall, Selma Parks & Recreation office, or by the attached link.  Parade Registration
  
  34th Annual Selma Railroad Run
  This 5k Run is the oldest continuous road race in Johnston County and possibly in North Carolina.  The Railroad Run is open to all men and women interested in racing this flat and fast course.  This USATF sanctioned race begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Webb and Waddell Streets.  Registration fee is $15 or $20, if received after September 28th and includes a t-shirt and runner's bag.  Awards are presented for overall and age groups place winners in the Railroad Run.

  Family Fun Walk
  The Family Fun Walk consists of a non-timed, non-scored walk.  This is open to any interested individuals.  The Family Fun Walk begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Webb and Waddell Streets.  The registration fee will be $10 or $15, if received after September 28th and includes a t-shirt.  All Family Fun Walk participants will receive medals.  You may also register online at Active.com or stop by Selma Parks & Recreation Department for registration.

  Caboose Run
  There will also be a Caboose Run for children ages 8 and under.  This is a one-block fun run in which all participants will receive a participation ribbon.  The Caboose Run is free for all participants.  It will begin approximately at 9:00 a.m. at the corner of Webb and Waddell Streets.

  4th Annual Cornhole Classic by the Tracks
  Cornhole is a sport anyone can play!  The game is a cross between beanbag-tossing and horseshoes.  Players toss a one-pound bag filled with corn at a sloped, flat box with a hole near one end.  Points are earned according to the placement of the beanbags on the boards.  This will be an open to all double elimination tournament with the format being based on number of teams.  The deadline to enter a team is Wednesday, October 3, 2012 by 5:00 p.m.  The cost per team is $25.00 and all participants receive a T-shirt.  The Champion and Runner-up will receive trophies.  Cornhole Classic Registration Form
