The Johnston County Tourism Authority is a ten-member authority appointed as an advisory board to oversee the tourist development tax fund, provide direction on programs and budget and review the expenditures of the JCCVB. As the lead marketing and promotional agency for visitation to Johnston County and its 11 municipalities the JCCVB acts as the umbrella organization that markets the town’s local brands and is funded by the 5 percent tourist tax on short-term accommodations, commonly known as the bed tax.
