I.          Call to Order – T Godwin

T Godwin called the meeting to order at 8:19 pm and stated that a quorum was present. With no corrections, the agenda was adopted.

II.        Chairman – T Godwin

T Godwin welcomed the board members and asked for a motion to accept the November minutes that were previously sent to the Board.

B Dixon motioned to accept the November minutes as presented.  M Patel seconded.  Motion passed unanimously.

III.       Finances – T Godwin

November Financials

Month-to-Date Revenue for November was $69,271.24. Month-to-Date Human Resources expenses were $25,007.77. Month-to-Date Operations were $70,330.12. Net Income for the month was $-26,066.65.  Year-to-Date Revenues were $384,744.90. Year-to-Date Human Resources expenses were $121,071.57. Year-to-Date Operations were $236,748.86. Year-to-Date net income was $26,924.47. The October revenues were $48,325.37. Smithfield’s October Revenues were $12,325.01. Selma’s October Revenues were $6,842.74. Kenly’s October Revenues were $1,717.52.  Benson’s October Revenues were $490.85. T Godwin stated that the cash position appeared unchanged. D Bailey-Taylor stated expenses were up due to the printing of the new visitors guide. She also stated that the audit report would be completed next month and the invoice had been paid. Paperwork to make a budget adjustment to pay for the audit has been processed.

IV. Special Projects Committee – T Stewart

D Bailey-Taylor stated that announcement letters had been sent to Capital Grants recipients.

V. Marketing Committee – P Boucher

D Bailey-Taylor stated that the committee had an interest in using Magellan Strategic Group to conduct a marketing audit of our current programs which would help with strategic planning and marketing in the next budget cycle. A proposal has been received for the marketing committee to review at the January meeting.

VI. Sports Council Committee – J Godfrey

No meeting.  T Godwin congratulated J Godfrey on a very well written article which recently was printed in The Herald on the Sports Council.

VII. Staff Report – D Bailey-Taylor

In the interest of time, D Bailey-Taylor stated that the last video shoot was scheduled for Thursday, December 6th. Taylor asked board members to look over the staff report and send any questions they may have.

T Godwin stated that it had been a good year so far, a lot of work has gone into several projects.  D Bailey-Taylor indicated after the December revenues/expenses are completed, the board will review the mid-year projects and budget.

J Godfrey announced the Clayton Chamber Annual Dinner will be January 22nd and the Chamber Board will not be appointing Heidi Stump’s replacement on the Tourism Authority board just yet.
