Clayton’s summer art and music festival, returns to downtown Horne Square on June 1. More than 50 area artists are expected to exhibit and sell their work at the Saturday event. Choose from a variety of artists such as visual arts, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, fiber, jewelry, woodwork, and mixed media.
Horne Square is at the corner of Main and Lombard streets. Event hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and attendance is FREE.
Millstock will also feature local musical acts at the Flipside restaurant, located a half block from the square. "Chalk It Up", a sidewalk chalk art contest for youngsters and adults will be back. A free children’s booth is planned where youngsters can make their own art—paintings or collages—and take them home.
The Clayton Farmers’ Market, which this year has moved Saturday operations (7 a.m. - 2 p.m.) to Horne Square, will shift to North Lombard Street, on the east side of the square, to make room for the day-long Millstock event.
Millstock is produced for the third year by Clayton Visual Arts, Inc. It is sponsored by the Johnston County Visitors Bureau and Johnston County Arts Council.
