(Lucama, NC) – Saturday, March 1, the green flag will fly on the 2014 racing season at Southern National Motorsports Park. This special day race, set for a 2:00 PM start time, and the 200 lap event will feature twin-75 lap events from the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stocks. Also in action will be the SNMP Charger and UCAR divisions.
Saturday's race will also be the first of twelve races in "The Dirty Dozen" racing series, split between SNMP and Motor Mile Speedway (Radford, VA). Each event, six at SNMP and six at MMS, will consist of two twin-75 lap events. The overall point winner will collect an extra $3,000 for the season-long championship. The remainder of the $10,000 purse will be paid out with $2,500 for second, $2,000 for third, $1,500 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. An extra $500 will be paid out courtesy of Ford Racing as a "hard charger" award to the racer who completes the most passes throughout the Dirty Dozen events.
Gates open at 12:00 PM for Saturday's event, with the green flag set to fly at 2:00 PM. Tickets for this "March Madness" event are $12 for adults (16+), $6 for kids (6-15) with children 5 and under free. Seniors and military (with valid ID) are just $10.
