As we move into the final countdown to Christmas, some of us are even thinking beyond the holidays. Here are three events to look forward to after the craziness settles down. Two are musical events to ring in New Year's Eve, and one is a 5K race to keep those of you who made some healthy new year's resolutions honest.
New Year's Eve on The Farm - December 31, 2018 at The Farm at 42
Dance the night away with Jim Quick & Coastline to ring in the new year. Doors open at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $40 each and include the concert, a photo booth, a free champagne toast at midnight, a balloon drop at midnight, and appetizers provided by Backyard Bistro. There will also be a cash bar. Dress in your festive attire and come ready to party!
New Year's Eve Live @ the Rudy - December 31, 2018 at The Rudy Theatre in Selma
Get your tickets now to "A Stroll Down Memory Lane" starring Diane Bailey; a wonderful tribute show to legendary country singer Patsy Cline . The show starts at 9:00 PM and will also star Austin Irby, an award-winning Elvis tribute artist. Spend New Year's Eve enjoying all the entertainment you expect from a Live @ the Rudy Show (formally the American Music Jubilee).
3rd Annual Polar Bear 5K Run - January 19, 2019 in Uptown Selma
This race, popular with pet-parents, starts at 10:00 AM, but be sure to arrive early for registration at the corner of Webb and Waddell Streets. The cost is $10 per runner -- pets are free of charge. And yes, you are encouraged to bring your pets; the Polar Bear Run was recently included in the national Dog-friendly Events/Runs database and received a RunRepeat Approved Award. Run with your dog, cat, bird, lizard, goldfish, or whatever... however, you must clean up after your pet and all pets must be on a leash. Proceeds will benefit Little Free Libraries of Johnston County.
Mark your calendar for these events and be sure to continue to check back with the Johnston County Events Calendar throughout 2019 for happenings in JoCo! Have a happy and safe holiday as well as a prosperous new year!
