In consideration of the current conditions, the Kentucky Derby being rescheduled to Sept. 5, and the Johnston Health Foundation's Summer and Fall events calendar, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Portofino Derby Classic.
This decision was not made lightly, as the need to support local cancer patients still exists and we hope that our supporters and ticket buyers will continue to support the Angel Fund by making a donation on the event's ticket site.
To those who have already purchased tickets, you may:
1) Allow us to convert your ticket purchase to a donation to the Angel Fund
2) Transfer your ticket to the 2021 event
3) Request a refund

Other than Kentucky, the Portofino Derby Classic is the only place to be to celebrate the Derby! Join us on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Portofino Equestrian Center outside of Raleigh, NC for eastern North Carolina's biggest Derby party.
Net proceeds will benefit cancer patients through the Johnston Health Foundation's Angel Fund.
The fun-filled afternoon will have something for everyone. Sip a mint julep and cheer for the best-dressed in the ladies' hat contest and the men's and children's derby outfit contests. Get excited about the main event as you watch the live horse races, as well as other attractions like dressage. Sit back and enjoy music and refreshments with your friends...and of course, cheer on your pick for the live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby!
Tickets are now available online and may also be purchased on the event day (May 2, 2020). Please present your ticket at the event check-in tent on May 2 (printed ticket or e-ticket on your cellphone).
FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This event is open to people of all ages. Since this is a fundraising event, tickets will have to be purchased for every adult and child who attends the event. IDs are required for adults (21 yrs+) to receive their drink tickets for wine and beer.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
We are providing complimentary parking at the event. We encourage you to arrive when the gates open at 2:30pm. Shuttle vans will be available to take attendees from the parking lot to the check-in tent.
GUEST POLICIES
Video cameras are not allowed. Only the official videographers and media partners are permitted to cover the event. Attendees are not allowed to bring in their own chairs. The event is set up reception style - there will be limited seating.
