If you are getting ready to stop along I-95 or I-40, Johnston County has a wide variety of activities and flavors for you to experience during your stop. Couple of Hours to Explore

Sometimes you are in a hurry and can't spare time to explore the attractions, specialty shops, and unique dining in Johnston County. If you are traveling through the county on I-95 or I-40 and can spare a couple of hours, we have prepared several short excursion itineraries for you.

If you have seen billboards for the Ava Gardner Museum, Bentonville Battlefield or Tobacco Farm Life Museum year after year, and even great outlet shopping at Carolina Premium Outlets or a local favorite, DeWayne's then now might be the time to add a couple of hours to your trip itinerary.

Spend the Day in JoCo

Of course, we would love for you to spend the day in Johnston County and even make it a weekend trip. We are big supporters of our motto "Get Outside the City" to see what our rural communities have to offer. An abundance of small town charm and downtown experiences await you while getting out to the countryside in Johnston County includes historic sites, recreation, managed forests, and local farm experiences.

A day trip will spark your interest in all Johnston County has to offer like the Beer, Wine, and Shine Trail which several hotels in the area offer a Sip & Stay package for a weekend visit.
