Join the Johnston County Visitors Bureau for their first-ever JoCo Block Party, a free community celebration bringing tourism to life through music,E-Bike Photo food, giveaways, and interactive experiences inspired by local attractions that make Johnston County unique. 

Whether you've lived here your whole life, just moved to the area, or you're passing through on I-95, this is your chance to discover something new. Meet local attractions, enjoy live music, grab a bite from local food trucks, and learn how the Johnston County Visitors Bureau helps visitors and residents explore everything our county has to offer.

Experience Johnston County in One Place

Instead of simply setting up information tables, many of Johnston County's attractions are bringing interactive activities that let you experience what they offer firsthand.

Sample fresh watermelon with JoCo Grows. Meet live animals from Howell Woods. Take an e-bike for a test ride with Triangle Adventures. Snap a photo with the Smithfield Tobs mascots and challenge your friends to a game of cornhole. Watch a traditional tobacco horse looping demonstration with the Tobacco Farm Life Museum, showcasing a time-honored agricultural practice that helped shape Johnston County's farming heritage.

Plus, enjoy delicious food from Redneck Taco Lab and Kookie Krumbs Food Trucks, live music with DJ Michael Brock of Brock Entertainment, and free giveaways and attendee swag bags while supplies last.

Every day we welcome visitors, create travel guides, promote local businesses and attractions, answer travel questions, and help people discover everything Johnston County has to offer.

The JoCo Block Party is your chance to meet our team, explore our Visitor Center, pick up free travel information, and see how tourism supports our local communities.

Admission

Admission is free and no registration is required. Simply stop by and enjoy the afternoon.

Food trucks will have food and beverages available for purchase, while complimentary refreshments and giveaways are available while supplies last.

 

Parking

Free parking is available in the surrounding shopping centers across from and beside the Visitors Bureau Office. Please look for black parking signage.

For your safety, please do not parallel park directly on Venture Drive.

 

Accessibility

The JoCo Block Party is designed to be welcoming for guests of all ages and abilities. The event will take place outdoors on paved surfaces with accessible entrances to the Johnston County Visitors Bureau. Accessible parking is available and accessible restrooms are located inside the Visitor Center.

 

Weather

In the event of rain or severe weather, the event will be postponed until Friday, November 13th. Updates will be posted on this page and on the Visit JoCo social media channels.
