Visit the museum and explore exhibits depicting the early days of Benson, and learn about how the past has made this charming community what it is today. Stroll through a vast collection of artifacts with themed exhibits on a variety of subjects such as farming, home life, local artists, military history, merchants, the State Singing Convention, Benson Mule Days, country doctors plus much more.
To watch a video overview of the museum, click here. In addition, the museum has provided access to their large photography collection with the NC Digital Heritage Center. The museum's photography collection was donated by one of the museum's founders, historian Harold Medlin.
The Benson Museum of Local History was established in 1987 to collect, preserve, and display items of historical significance related to the Benson area. Admission is free.
