Welcome to ARTmosphere Community Arts Center (CAC) Est. 2018

We are housed in the historic Walter R. & Eliza Smith Moore House, c.1835, located in the Cleveland area of Clayton. Artmosphere CAC’s purpose is to build relationships within the community using the arts as a bridge. The Arts Center functions specifically to encourage enrichment of the arts of various forms within the community. The Arts Center opened in 2018 in order to provide space to create, participate in, support, learn and view arts through offering workshops, classes, studio space, clay studio, music lessons, event space, an interactive community type garden and a gallery. We are open to the entire community of all ages and skill levels. We have opportunities to book the property for small-scale events and meetings. We have annual free outdoor community events featuring live music and artisan vendors.

A community that includes the arts as an outlet for creativity can help provide individual and community well-being with reduced stress, promotion of positive health behaviors, self–efficacy and development of a shared identity. There are opportunities to create partnerships within the community through bonding, awareness and possible fundraising. Artmosphere CAC is a place to make connections and grow as a person and a community. Register for our art classes, attend our events, shop in our local artisan gallery and more here at ARTmosphere Community Arts Center.

About Artmosphere CAC

mandy

I am Mandy McNulty, owner of Artmosphere Community Arts Center. I am so excited to make my dream of creating a Community Arts Center into a reality. There are many titles describing myself - mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, artist, volunteer…… however, within each of those titles lies a common thread of a desire to make a quality connection. I believe that creating this Arts Center and all the many ripples that will come from it communicates myself- a real hope of reaching and bridging gaps between people, communities, ideas, and nature. I feel I have been working up to this my whole life.

I studied Visual Arts and graduated with a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Virginia. I love to create varieties of art using several mediums such as chalk pastels, oil paintings and more.

I grew up in Virginia where much of my family lives currently. I am married to an amazing man and have the gift of 4 children in which I am enormously proud. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats and 1 lizard. I currently live 1.5 miles from the Arts Center in the Cleveland Community of Johnston County, NC since 2013.

I love to experience life through family, friendships, travel, culture and arts. I enjoy volunteering in between all the other parts of my life.

The anticipation of how Artmosphere Community Arts Center may grow and intertwine within the community is enthralling to me. To say the least, I have major plans and hopes for many positive effects stemming from this Arts Center. I hope to see you there sometime :)

About Historic Walter R. And Eliza Smith Moore House, c. 1835

historic house

The house is on the National Registry for Historic Places for it's Federal style architecture and elaborate craftsman trim-work adorning the exterior. The interior maintains some of the original molding and mantel trim as well as most of the original floors. There are 5 out buildings. One is an original building used originally as a meat house. Another out building was once a past general store and was moved at some point from across Raleigh Rd to its current location. The Moore Family were farmers and owned an estimated 1,000 acres surrounding the property. The land has been divided and sold through the past century . The house has changed ownership 10 times and was renovated in 1989. The house and it’s remaining 6.75 acres on which it sits, warrant a visit to experience a little historic culture as well as to enjoy what the Arts Center has to offer.
