Out and about in JoCo
What a fun time to visit Johnston County -- recreation activities are everywhere. Enjoy the Mountains to the Sea Trail that connects Raleigh/Wake County to Clayton for biking and hiking. Or the Neuse River is the waterway that connects our two counties with canoeing and kayaking options for a lazy day on the river.
For outdoor enthusiasts, choose from Clemmons State Educational Forest (the first managed forest in North Carolina!) or Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center, which offers 25 miles of roads and broad walks for exploring. Or just get out on the roads along one of four Bike Routes that connects many rural attractions from Benson to Meadow, from Smithfield to Bentonville...all four offer beautiful rural landscapes.
