McGee's Xrds

Small child looking at the goats at Smith's Farm near Benson, NC.Located along I-40 at Exit 319, just 5 miles from downtown Benson, McGee's Xrds is fondly referred to by locals as "Benson West".  Visitors will find great BBQ and one of the stops along the Beer, Wine, and Shine Trail at Gregory Winery.

While in the area we suggest visiting Smith's Nursery & Produce Farm, as they offer activities throughout the year, strawberry picking, a fishing pond, and pumpkins in the fall. Getting outside the city for a while -- it's refreshing!

Things to Do

The McGee's Xrds community is rich in agriculture history, so many of the activities to enjoy include our local farms for buying local produce in season, or even locally crafted wines. Get outside and enjoy an outing to a local farm...your kids will love it!

Places to Eat

This I-40, Exit 319 caters to the travelers getting off the interstate for a bite to eat, so you will find several fast food restaurants. Hidden gems to discover include locally made bagels and cupcakes (to die for!). And if BBQ is your favorite, two options are available at the Exit -- Stephenson's BBQ and The Red Neck BBQ Lab, the former traditional Easterm NC style and the ladder, competition style...both delicious.

Places to Shop
