Clayton Steakhouse offers a welcoming dining experience with both lunch and dinner service throughout the week. Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday, featuring a menu of sandwiches, burgers, and a standout salad bar—widely considered one of the best in the Triangle. Dinner is available Tuesday through Saturday, highlighting expertly prepared premium steaks and fresh seafood. All dinner entrées include access to the salad bar and a choice of side item.

Guests can enjoy a variety of grilled-to-order steaks, seasonal seafood selections, and house-made specialties. The restaurant is especially known for its homemade salad dressings, side dishes, and desserts. Signature sweets include buttermilk pie, strawberry cream pie, and rich triple chocolate cake, all made in-house.

The 3,000-square-foot space accommodates up to 76 guests in the main dining area, along with an additional 10 seats at a cozy window-front bar. The main dining room is adorned with vintage black-and-white photographs that reflect Johnston County’s history and charm, while a rear dining space showcases rotating artwork from local artists. This gallery-style feature changes every six to eight weeks, with artwork available for purchase directly from the artists.
