An Art-full Visit to JoCo
Johnston County has truly discovered the advantage of converting historic school buildings into auditorium space for the performing arts; both in Clayton and Benson, historic renovated school auditoriums offer theatre productions, live music, plays, and much more in very intimate surroundings. JoCo also has visual arts like the Clayton Sculpture Trail, get outside and explore this interactive walking art museum; each stop is a unique sculpture and the art pieces are rotated out every year!
Local artists and potters are often found at farmer’s markets and their creations adorn the walls of area businesses like Double Barley or Revival 1869. Live music is available all across the county with large-scale production like Live @ The Rudy and smaller performances by local artists at intimate venues such as coffee shops, taverns, and breweries.
