At the Tobacco Farm Life Museum visitors will view a 6,000 square foot gallery with permanent and rotating exhibits, seven original and reproduction buildings (including a workshop, packhouse, smokehouse, homestead with a detached kitchen, tobacco barn and one room school house).
A guided tour of the museum gallery and outdoor buildings takes approximately two hours. Tour length may vary based on the size of the group and additional activities. The Museum offers guided group tours that can include the additional activities listed below:1. 15 minute film on modern day tobacco farming presented by Holland Farms (Free* With group tour admission)
2. On-farm tour (group will need to provide their own transportation to the farm) (Additional $5 per person)
3. Hand Dipped Candles (Additional $1 per person)
4. Hand Churned Butter (Additional $1 per person)
5. Heritage Games (Additional $1 per person)
6. Artifact Discovery (Additional $1 per person)
7. Use of Picnic Tables (Free *)
8. Catered Lunch (price depends on lunch request)*
9. Additional heritage activities and vendors are on-site the second Saturday of the month. Except for December & January, programming may vary. Most activities are free with admission, but some activities may require a minimal fee for participation. Please see our Stepping into the Past Saturday Series Schedule.*
