Latinos Activate JOCO enthusiastically announces the 8th Annual JOCO Latino Festival, a vibrant celebration of Latino culture and community engagement. The festival is scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. They invite the community to participate in and enjoy this culturally enriching event.
The festival will also feature vendor stalls along Raiford Street, showcasing a variety of goods and services, as well as live entertainment at the intersection of S Raiford St and Railroad St, featuring musical and dance performances celebrating Latino heritage. The festival kicks off with a walking parade and features over 30 vendors and food trucks.
This year's festival will be prominently situated along Raiford Street and Waddell Street, with comprehensive road closures to ensure a safe and festive atmosphere for all attendees. Specifically, the closures will be effective from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on May 12th. Raiford Street will be closed from the intersection of Oak Street and N Raiford St to Anderson St and from S Raiford St to Railroad St.
Additionally, Waddell Street will see closures from the intersection of N Pollock and West Waddell St to the intersection of E Waddell St and N Webb St. These closures will facilitate the placement of a delightful array of food trucks along Waddell Street, showcasing diverse Latino culinary offerings. To accommodate festival-goers, ample parking options will be available throughout the town.

12:15 PM - Walking Parade Line-Up: participants gather and prepare for the parade
1:00 PM - The parade begins, heralding the start of the festival
1:15 PM - Opening Ceremonies: brief remarks and introductions will officially open the festival
1:25 PM - Sociedad Anonima Perform: Spanish Rock ‘n Roll filled with vibrant Latin rhythms
2:55 PM - Dance Performance: featuring performers from Grupo Folklorico Raleigh
3:10 PM - Sandra Padilla Performs: the Queen of the Song
4:40 PM - Performance by Latinos Activate JOCO Folklorico Dancers
4:55 PM - Directo Norteño Performs: a Spanish Ranchero Country group
