With a growing craft beverage scene in Johnston County, the VisitJoCo Team has been hard at work over the last 6 months reimagining how to package and promote the Beer, Wine, & Shine Trail. The trail now includes new stops like Raleigh Brewing Distro and The Vault, plus new experiences like Broadslab’s uniquely made bourbon line and Hinnant’s revamped facilities. These additions highlight the best of local flavors and craftsmanship, providing a richer taste of Johnston County's vibrant beverage scene.
Part of that reimagining has been to take the legacy print piece, the Beer, Wine, & Shine brochure, and make it more accessible to visitors and craft beverage enthusiasts. We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Bandwango to create the Beer, Wine, & Shine Trail Digital Pass. Our new pass is a free program that visitors (or locals) can sign up for and includes all nine stops along the trail.
Launched very recently, visitors will find information on beerwineshinetrail.com about how to sign-up for the mobile pass. This is NOT an app. There is never anything to download and no bulky apps to take up space on your phone. In addition, the check-ins work via geolocation and will not require patrons to ask bar staff for a physical stamp on their brochure.
The trail landing page will have a step-by-step guide on how to sign-up for and access the pass, as well as Frequently Asked Questions regarding this new program - including all about earning prizes! Free swag was a big part of the old brochure and it will still be a part of the trail with the new pass.
With a total of five breweries, two distilleries, and two wineries on the trail, there are multiple opportunities for everyone to earn prizes. Each check-in to a business is worth 10 points, which means the entire trail is worth 90 points. After two check-ins, you will earn a BWST sticker and a phone stand which also operates as a bottle opener. At five check-ins, you will earn a set of two bamboo BWST coasters. At nine check-ins, you will earn a t-shirt with the trail logo. Once you earn a prize, we encourage you to stop by the Visitors Center to pick it up. If the stop does not work in your schedule, no worries! We will be able to ship the prizes you earn to you.
Though the pass will replace the printed guide, the Bureau will continue to accept stamped guides for those currently in the middle of earning towards a prize on the current brochure. Visitors to our Beer, Wine, & Shine Trail partners, our Visitors Center, or who visit one of the state’s welcome centers will start to notice updated and enhanced signage for the trail. The VisitJoCo Team is excited for this new, user-friendly digital pass which will make it easier than ever for visitors to navigate the trail and discover all it has to offer!
